Fellow Karters
East Coast Karting and the Caseley family have just advised me that they are putting on an Appreciation Day for the CKRA members and families. Everyone is invited to the track on Saturday October 24th starting at 11am for a free fun filled day of Racing (ECK Karts), Barbeque hamburgers, hot dogs, pop. Dads can race against Dads, Mom’s against Mom’s, Kid’s against Mom’s and Dad’s. Just a fun filled free day at the ECK track. Plan your weekend as our banquet is the next day Sunday October 25th and I would remind everyone to contact Beth Kennedy (bekenned@serha.ca) ASAP for tickets. Thank you to Gerald Caseley and family for organizing this fun filled day. Hope to see everyone at the Track and the Banquet.

Fellow Karters:
I was just informed by Rejean Leblanc that Ronan Vernouillet’s father passed away yesterday after his brief illness. Ronan raced in the Senior 4 cycle class and attended some of our earlier races as well as the earlier AKRS races and then had to stop due to his dads illness. Ronan was also at our last race and went out in his kart after we were done racing. I would like to express the CKRA’s condolences to the Vernouillet family during this difficult time and to let them know that we are all thinking of them.

Attention Karter:
Gerald has advised me that the track will NOT be available between 12:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturday September 26th for anyone that might have been planning to come a day earlier to practice. The track will however be available from 8:00 am til 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm til dark on Saturday September 26th for practice. We appreciate him advising us of this as it would be disappointing to travel to the track only to find it being used most of the day as he has a number of groups booked in.
Thanks,
Rick

Our final Race of the season will be this Sunday September 27th and will be a Double Header with all classes running including Masters and Rotax. We will run 2 complete races with trophies and points for each race. We have made the schedule below with hopes that we will be done by 3:45 for those who have to travel. Our announcer Roger White will be covering both races and we are anticipating a great turnout. We also hope to have tickets for our End of year Awards Banquet October 25th at the track. Cost is approx. $15.00 for tickets with more info coming in the next couple of days. See you all at the track.

Hello to All Karters & Families:
Race # 6 will be this Sunday September 13th with the schedule of the day’s events below. Also we would like to have our September 6th make-up race on September 20th. The only other option at this point would be for a double day on September 27th. We would like some feedback from the membership if September 20th is not ok. The only conflict at this point on the 20th is the Nascar Race in Loudon. It would be nice to have the racing completed by the end of September as Hockey season is fast approaching. See you at the track on Sunday.
Schedule as follows:
8:30 – 9:00 Registration 9:15 – 11:00 Practice – 2 practices, 3 if time permits 11:30 - Drivers Meeting 12:15 – Racing begins 3:00 - Trophies

Attention: Racer’s
Our final night race under the lights will be this Saturday night Aug 29, 2009. We will run the same schedule as last time as I think everyone would agree, it worked out well. Rogers TV will again be at our race doing full coverage, please try and attend this race as it is a great way to promote our sport. We have picked up a few new karters as a result of the AKRS coverage in Fredericton and the short burst done at the ECK earlier in the season.
We have decided to cancel the September 6th race and hopefully make it up later in the schedule with either a double day or another date. We will keep everyone informed of this. Also we need 3 people again to help with the lights, they need picked up at Atlantic Cat on Saturday morning and delivered back on Monday. If anyone can help, please contact Kevin McIntee (Kevin.McIntee@serha.ca) and let him know.
See you all on Saturday night!
Practice – 5:00 – 6:30 Drivers meeting 6:45 Heat Racing 7:15 ish Finals 9:00 Trophies 10:15

Fellow Karters:
After almost 1 month break, it is time to start your engines and come out to the CKRA Race #4 under the lights this Saturday night August 22nd. We are going to shorten things up a bit as we had a few complaints about how long it went the last time and I have to agree, it was a bit late. We are going to try this new schedule below to see how it goes. Hope to see you all there. Also I have had conversations with Rogers TV and they are planning to be set up at our race this Saturday Night with multiple Cameras and commentators covering our whole race. Should be a great time. I also have a note which is posted below concerning picking up and returning the lights. Also in order to speed things up we need more volunteers to quickly volunteer for flagging. Thanks and see you at the races. Canteen services will be available.
Practice beginning at 5 pm – 2 practices (Rotax Jr & Sr, Novice, Junior 4 Cycle, Senior 4 Cycle & Masters) Supper break 6:45 – 7:15 pm Drivers meeting 7:15 pm Heat Races begin 7:30 pm Features at 9:00 pm Trophies 10:30 pm
Subject to change but practice will begin at 5 pm.
Here is the email that I was asked to post from Kevin McIntee:
We are looking for 2 volunteers in preparation of our August 22 Night race. We rent 3 portable lighting systems enabling us to host a night race. We need help transporting them from “The Cat Rental Store” off Mapleton road to the track. The units need to be picked up by Saturday Noon and returned on Monday morning. If you are able to tow one of these I would like to hear from you. Call 506-869-1553 or Email me here

Dear Members and Fellow Karters,
On behalf of your Club President, Rick VanSnick a schedule change is required for the event scheduled on September 6 originally to be raced in Burlington PEI as a non point event. This September 6 weekend will now be raced in Moncton and become a make up event for Race #3. I will adjust the race schedule on the website to reflect the change. On another note the video footage shot by Rogers TV on June 3, 2009 is post on the clubs website. Hope to see you all Saturday Night!

Dear Members
After visiting the race track and talking with the owner of Burlington Amusements Park of PEI, I regret that the CKRA executive team has to announce that the race scheduled for June 14, 2009 will be cancelled. Track fee increase is the main reason we made this decision. The executive looked at ways to over come the fee increase with sponsors and by increasing race day fees and felt it was in the best interest of the club to cancel the race. In light of these obstacles we have rescheduled Race #3 to June 21st, 2009 at East Coast Karting in Moncton.
Please visit the website (www.ckranb.ca) as the results and points are updated from Race #2.
Thank you, Rick

Fellow Karters:
Our 2009 club race is less than 2 weeks away so come and get ready on Sunday May 24, 2009 beginning at 10:30 am and running til at least 3pm. New drivers must attend as we will be conducting pre-race school in the morning for the new drivers. There will be no practice fees for any members wishing to practice. There are also some work chores that need to be completed so I would ask everyone to try and come out. Our trailer needs levelling and cleaned up and we have some cleanup that needs to be done around the track. The club will be providing a free lunch consisting of Burgers, Dogs and pop. See you all on Sunday May 24th. If the weather calls for rain, I will send out an email on Friday and we will hold the day on Saturday May 23rd.
See you at the track, Rick

Our annual AGM and Swap Meet will be held at Mathieu-Martin High School, Dieppe N.B. on Saturday April 4, 2009 with the swap meet from 10 – 11 and the meeting beginning at 11am sharp. Doors will be open at approx. 9:30 so everyone can setup for the swap meet. Tables will be available (used karts will have to stay outside). We hope to have a few new members in attendance at the meeting and I am sure everyone has something in the garage they would like to sell, give-away, trade etc. The executive encourage all members to attend as we have lots of exciting news for the 2009 season.

Also, Gerald Caseley signed up a few people for his Kart Camp this summer. Overall everyone thought that we got a lot more exposure during this show than past Car Shows. The executive of the club will be meeting the first week of March and will set up a date for the AGM which we plan also to have in
